Signs of Squirrel Activity in White Plains Properties

Fall is a common time for squirrels to target attic openings, roofline gaps, and damaged soffits as temperatures begin to drop. Once inside, squirrels can damage wood and insulation. Gnawing may also affect electrical wiring within structural spaces.

Scratching, scurrying, or gnawing sounds from an attic, wall, or roofline indicate animal activity that warrants an inspection. Sounds alone don’t confirm the species involved. Our inspection helps distinguish squirrels from other animals and identifies the openings connected to the activity.

Common Maryland squirrel species include:

• Gray squirrels
• Southern flying squirrels
• Eastern fox squirrels

Activity patterns vary by species and property conditions, so we assess the building before recommending a removal method. Visible damage around soffits, roofing, vents, or chimney components may also reveal where an animal entered.

Our Squirrel Removal & Exclusion Process

Effective squirrel control addresses both the animals and the structure they entered. We base the work on the property, the extent of the infestation, and the entry routes found during our assessment.

Property Inspection & Infestation Assessment
We inspect the property for signs of activity, nesting or travel routes, visible damage, and contamination. The condition of the openings and the extent of attic or structural activity help determine the work required. We then develop a customized plan and discuss the proposed removal method before work begins.

Trapping & Removal
We provide trapping and removal based on the findings from the property assessment. Because each building and infestation differs, we determine the appropriate method and timeline after examining the conditions firsthand.

Squirrel Exclusion
We seal identified openings in roofing, vents, and chimneys as appropriate to the property. Closing these openings helps prevent repeat access after the squirrels have been removed.

Sanitation & Decontamination
We provide sanitation and decontamination for affected areas. This work is tailored to where the activity occurred and the extent of contamination found during the inspection.
